MENYELAMATKAN IDENTITAS SOSIAL DAN BUDAYA
STUDI KOMUNIKASI LINGKUNGAN DI WILAYAH RAWAN BANJIR BANTARAN SUNGAI CITARUM KABUPATEN BANDUNG

Di Kecamatan Bale Endah, Kabupaten Bandung, persepsi masyarakat terhadap banjir dipengaruhi oleh informasi pemerintah mengenai relokasi serta identitas sosial dan budaya komunitas daerah aliran sungai setempat. Setiap musim hujan, masyarakat menyadari bahaya banjir yang mengancam harta benda dan nyawa mereka, tetapi mereka enggan pindah dari lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interpretasi masyarakat terhadap informasi pemerintah dan sikap mereka terhadap seruan-seruan tersebut. Penelitian kualitatif menggunakan studi kasus dilakukan untuk menganalisis persepsi masyarakat terhadap relokasi dan seruan pemerintah dalam penanganan banjir. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan tinjauan literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penolakan terhadap relokasi disebabkan oleh keterikatan emosional terhadap tempat tersebut sebagai bagian dari identitas sosial dan budaya mereka. Mereka memandang tempat tersebut sebagai bagian dari kehidupan dan mata pencaharian mereka. Banjir dianggap sebagai takdir yang harus dihadapi meskipun ada upaya pemerintah yang berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang efektif memerlukan integrasi identitas sosial dan budaya sebagai strategi komunikasi dalam pesan lingkungan.
