Abstrak

The national perspective has come to the forefront as modernity is perceived to have exceeded its limits. The adherents, followers, and even the driving forces of modernity have begun to experience fatigue. Reaching a deadlock in developing and discovering new elements within modern culture, attention has shifted toward local culture as an alternative. Local culture, which embodies originality, wisdom, and natural values, has become the preferred choice, emerging as a global trend that has found its momentum. However, this is not the end of a civilization, but rather a phase of rediscovering old treasures that had been buried, abandoned, and forgotten. This rediscovery, which leads toward cultural reconstruction, finds its momentum in the growing awareness of sovereignty and national identity in accordance with each nation’s original character. The emergence of this awareness has occurred collectively and almost simultaneously across nations. This awareness has been widely captured through digital media. Therefore, in relation to this research, new media culture serves as the basis for determining the objective of this study, namely to analyze the trend of local consciousness in the context of cultural reconstruction within the exploration of modernity. The method used is qualitative, employing media content analysis. This approach is considered appropriate for capturing phenomena occurring in natural settings. The results of the study indicate that the awareness of seeking the essence of national identity and character based on local culture has found its momentum within a fragmented digital civilization, as modernization has experienced stagnation.
