Informal learning spaces (ILS) are increasingly important in supporting student learning. However, their availability and quality on campus remain limited and are still evolving. This condition encourages students to use public spaces as alternatives, despite additional costs and limited support for learning activities. In this context, student housing has the potential to serve as an alternative informal learning space, yet related studies remain limited, spesifically regarding the design factors that support this function. This study aims to identify student housing design factors that influence its use as an informal learning space. The study employs a literature review method by combining thematic synthesis and qualitative systematic review conducted in several stages to integrate the contexts of informal learning space (ILS) and student housing. The data used consist of systematic review-based studies on informal learning space, as well as relevant student housing literatures selected based on predefined criteria. The findings identify potentially relevant informal learning space design factors within the context of student housing and classify them into six categories: social and personal factors, physical environmental factors, spatial and ergonomic factors, accessibility and availability factors, supporting facility factors, and management and operational factors, while also mapping their levels of relevance potential.
